Newborn Care
Newborn care at the Epworth Geelong Hospital
Maternity Services at Epworth Geelong Hospital have delivered more than 750 babies since opening in August 2017. Geelong Children's Clinic paediatricians work with the Epworth team of obstetricians and midwives, providing safe and nurturing care for newborn infants and their parents. We will be delighted to care for your newborn and support your family through this special time.
If your baby is born at Epworth Geelong Hospital, you may meet one of the Geelong Children's Clinic paediatricians either at the birth or in the first few days on the Postnatal Ward.
The Geelong Children's Clinic
The Geelong Children's Clinic is a specialist paediatric medical practice located inside the Epworth Geelong Hospital in Waurn Ponds. Local GPs refer children to us from the Geelong, Surf Coast, Bellarine, Colac - Otway and Wyndham Vale regions.
Our nurse practitioner Mr Tim Gartland is able to see patients without a GP referral, for care of skin conditions such as eczema, molluscum and recurrent school sores. Please contact our clinic directly if you would like to bring your child to see Tim.
Appointments with our paediatricians are by referral only: we must receive a valid referral letter from your family doctor before we can arrange an appointment for your child. GP referrals to our paediatricians will normally need to be renewed every 12 months, to maintain a 'team approach' for your child's health.
